Kybella FAQs

The active ingredient in KYBELLA ® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, KYBELLA® destroys fat cells, and once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat.
The swelling is temporary. The overall recovery timeline is about one month. Therefore it’s recommended that you wait at least one month between treatments.
This will be discussed at consultation where a tailored treatment plan will be formulated. At each treatment, the patient will be given multiple small injections to the area. Patients can have up to 6 treatment sessions, spaced at least 1 month apart. Many patients experience visible results after 2 to 4 treatments of KYBELLA® but this is patient dependant.
After Kybella treatment, patients can experience some soreness. You can reduce the discomfort with over-the-counter pain relievers. Expect swelling and bruising directly after treatment.
