The Alma Harmony XL Pro NIR is ALL about heat energy! But not to worry, the targeted heat, near infrared radiation energy, is distributed safely and gradually throughout the area, so you can expect to feel a warm sensation, for the first half of the treatment, then the second half will be focused on maintaining the optimal temperature to maintain activation of neo-collagenesis. This, at most, may be slightly uncomfortable, but your CULTSKIN® Skin Specialist will be in constant communication throughout the treatment to ensure you’re as comfortable as possible.

Your treated area has been heated from the inside out, so immediately after the treatment you can expect moderate erythema (redness of the skin caused by injury or another inflammation-causing condition) for the rest of the day for some patients. You would’ve left the treatment protected with SPF, so no need to re-apply unless the area is washed off. There is no official downtime, however, for the next 24 hours post-treatment, we just advise patients to avoid heat treatments such as saunas, steam rooms and strenuous or sweat-inducing exercise. For the next few days, SPF protection is imperative on the area and try to avoid direct sunlight, by covering the area with an item of clothing or positioning in the shade to help the healing process action efficiently.

You should already be applying topical medical-grade SPF within your daily routine, if areas are exposed to UV often, so no change there. Be sure to ask your CULTSKIN® Skin Specialist for a recommended medical-grade SPF if further guidance is needed, one that will suit you best.
