Eye trough rejuvenation a non-surgical treatment, is appropriate for some patients with lower eyelid dark circles/dark hollows.
WHAT ARE TEAR TROUGHS AND HOW ARE THEY FORMED?
In the lower eyelid a weakening of the orbital septum, and in the cheek area (the “mid-face”) a loss of soft tissue volume, tend to accentuate the appearance of the lower bony orbital margin which lies between the lower eyelid and the cheek. This also leads to the appearance of lower eyelid fat pockets and together these can lead to a “tear trough” depression, or dark shadow or hollow.
HOW IS THE PROCEDURE PERFORMED?
At ESHO Clinic, we use small innovative micro cannulae to give precise injections of dermal filler along the eyelid hollows to reverse the effects noted above. This procedure should only be carried out by a an experienced advanced aesthetic practitioner such as Dr Esho – CEO and founder of ESHO Clinic.
DOES IT HURT?
No. Topical anaesthetic is also applied before the procedure. Also the dermal filler used contains a local anaesthetic – at ESHO Clinic, we use juvederm as our filler of choice but we also use other products depending on patients preference.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE? AND HOW LONG TO THE RESULTS LAST?
Approximately 15-20 mins. Results last between 9-12 months.
IS IT THE CORRECT TREATMENT FOR ME?
Some patients may not be suitable for this procedure and may need alternative methods to treat there tear troughs. Patients may benefit from a combination of cosmetic eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) and tear trough injections. This can also be used in synergy with cheek dermal filler injections to achieve a dramatic desirable look. Dr Esho will be able to advise about the best option for you.
